Black Love: A Valentine’s Day Poem
Black love is a sunrise, golden and bright,
A warmth that lingers past the night.
It’s the rhythm in our laughter, deep and true,
A melody only our souls can pursue.
It’s the way your hands fit into mine,
Like constellations perfectly aligned.
The way we rise, despite the weight,
Turning struggle into something great.
Black love is Sunday dinners slow and sweet,
The sound of old-school records on repeat.
It’s braided crowns and whispered prayers,
A love that grows, a love that cares.
It’s protest and poetry, power and grace,
A legacy time cannot erase.
Through every storm, through joy, through pain,
Black love still stands. It will remain.
So here’s to us on Valentine’s Day,
To the love that never fades away.
To Black love—bold, unbreakable, free,
A force as deep as the endless sea. ❤️
